Nutrition Policy
• As part of the healthy food eating at school, at least one piece of fresh fruit per day should be added to the child’s lunch box.
• Food from the bottom shelf of the food pyramid should be eaten at least once during the school day e.g. Bread-
• Drinks such as water and diluted drinks should be actively encouraged.
• Fizzy drinks, chewing gum and crisps are not permitted in the school.
• Treats to be limited to the junior/senior infants one day per week – Friday, party days, Christmas and Easter.
• Children will be encouraged to wash their hands regularly.
